Create your first template
Sign up, pick a starter, and customize it in under five minutes.
This guide walks you through creating your first email template with EmailBuilder.ai.
1. Sign up
Go to app.emailbuilder.ai and create a free account. You can sign in with Google or use email and password.
2. Pick a starting point
You have three options when creating a new template:
- Blank template — start with an empty canvas. Best when you have a clear design in mind.
- From a saved template — duplicate one of your previous templates and modify it.
- From the gallery — pick from hundreds of pre-built templates. Browse by category (welcome, newsletter, transactional, marketing, etc.).
For your first template, we recommend starting from the gallery — it's the fastest way to see results.
3. Customize the content
Click any text to edit it. Click any image to replace it. Use the right sidebar to change colors, spacing, and layout.
The editor has two modes:
- Visual mode — drag-and-drop blocks, edit text inline. This is the default.
- Code mode — edit the MJML source directly. Useful for fine-tuning or reusing existing snippets.
You can switch between modes at any time without losing changes.
4. Save and export
Templates auto-save as you edit. To use the template:
- Export HTML — download a ready-to-send
.htmlfile. - Send a test — preview how the email looks in your inbox.
- Push to your ESP — sync directly with SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, and other supported providers.
