Team
Invite collaborators, assign roles, manage seats.
EmailBuilder accounts are designed for teams. Invite collaborators, assign roles, and control who can change what. Seat counts are governed by your plan.
Inviting members
- Go to Account → Team.
- Click Invite member.
- Enter the email address and pick a role.
- Click Send invitation.
The invitee receives an email with a one-click link to join. The link is valid for 7 days; resend it from the Team page if it expires.
Invited members must have an email address you control or that they themselves can access — there's no SMS or magic-code alternative. For SAML-managed teams, see SSO — invitations aren't needed; users are provisioned on first login.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything. Created the account. Can manage billing, invite/remove anyone (including admins), and delete the account. One owner per account. |
| Admin | Manage team members (invite, remove, change roles below admin). Configure all integrations and settings. Cannot manage billing or remove the owner. |
| Editor | Create, edit, send templates. Use integrations. Cannot change account settings, integrations, or team. |
| Viewer | Read-only across the app. Useful for stakeholders who need to review without making changes. |
Change a member's role from the row's dropdown on the Team page. Demoting yourself from Owner requires transferring ownership to another member first.
Removing members
From the Team page, click the member's row → Remove from account. The member loses access immediately. Templates and sends they created stay in your account — there's no automatic transfer, but you can edit anything they touched.
Per the active subscription, your seat count drops by one immediately. If you re-invite within the same billing period, no proration applies.
Seats and plan limits
Seats are governed by the users limit on your plan:
| Plan | Seats |
|---|---|
| Playground | 1 (just you) |
| Maestro | 1 |
| Studio | 3 |
| Orchestra | 5 |
If you need more seats than the plan allows, upgrade. There's no per-extra-seat pricing today; the plans bundle seats into the plan tier.
Cross-account membership
A user can be a member of multiple accounts (e.g. an agency working on multiple client accounts). When they sign in, they pick the active account from a dropdown in the top-left of the app. Roles are per-account — being Admin in Account A doesn't give them any access to Account B.
Account ownership transfer
To transfer ownership:
- The current owner goes to Account → Team.
- Find the target member; click Transfer ownership in their row.
- Confirm. The current owner becomes Admin; the target becomes Owner.
This is irreversible from the UI — the new owner must transfer back if you change your mind. The new owner inherits billing access; the previous owner loses billing access immediately.
What's not available yet
- Per-project access control. Today, any team member sees every project. If you need a project-level boundary, separate the work into different accounts.
- Custom roles. The four built-in roles cover most cases; if you need finer-grained permissions (e.g. "can edit but not send"), contact support.
- Audit log. No built-in audit log today — use Paddle for billing changes and your IdP logs for SAML logins.
